Communications technology specialist Etherstack (ASX: ESK) has clinched a fresh contract with the Commonwealth of Australia, further cementing its standing as a trusted provider of secure defence communications solutions.
The new contract, valued at 2.5 million Australian dollars, will be delivered through Etherstack’s local subsidiary, Etherstack Pty Ltd. The revenue is expected to be fully recognised before the end of calendar year 2026, with further financial guidance to be issued during the week beginning 10 November.
While the specific project details remain under wraps for now, the announcement signals a continuation of Etherstack’s momentum in the defence sector. Since 2021, the company has generated 15 million dollars in total defence communications business with the Commonwealth.
“This contract cements 15 million dollars of defence communications business between Etherstack and the Australian Commonwealth since 2021,” said Anna Squires, Director of Defence at Etherstack. “Etherstack is proud to be a sovereign SME partner to the Australian defence communications community.”
The win underscores Etherstack’s growing role as a sovereign Australian partner in the defence ecosystem, providing advanced communications technologies with a focus on secure and resilient systems. The company’s solutions support critical areas such as waveform development, tactical cyber, real time networks and cross domain interoperability.
Based in Sydney with operations globally, Etherstack has carved out a niche in the defence and public safety communications sectors. Its technologies underpin communications systems for some of the world’s largest defence and mission critical solution providers.
The company indicated it will provide more detail on the new project and its broader revenue outlook during the coming week, as it updates investors on the implications for its financial performance in financial years 2025 and 2026.
With tensions rising across the geopolitical landscape and a renewed domestic focus on sovereign capability, Etherstack’s ability to deliver mission critical communications solutions continues to place it in strong standing with defence clients.
