Audeara (ASX:AUA) Signs Japanese Distribution Deal, Extending Auracast™ Accessibility into Asia

Brisbane-based Audeara (ASX:AUA) has signed a non-exclusive distribution agreement with Tokyo’s Eyear System Inc., marking a strategic expansion of its Auracast™-enabled technology into the Japanese market. The move further consolidates Audeara’s position as a leader in hearing accessibility solutions and follows its recent international forays into Taiwan, the United States, and Europe.

Under the agreement, Eyear System will distribute Audeara’s BT-LE Audio Transceiver and the soon-to-be-released BT-03 Audio Broadcaster across Japan. The deal is anchored by an initial minimum order of 100 units and a tiered pricing structure for future purchases. Importantly, both companies will collaborate on local product certification and coordinated marketing activities, with the goal of fast-tracking product availability in Japan’s highly developed hearing-health sector.

CEO Dr James Fielding emphasised the strategic significance of the partnership:

“Japan has one of the world’s most advanced hearing-health sectors and has a strong emphasis on accessibility. This partnership allows us to introduce our Auracast™ technology directly to consumers and professionals across the country, underpinned by Eyear System’s existing networks.”

The partnership will be formally launched at the assistive technology and healthcare trade show at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan (19–21 November 2025). The joint exhibit will showcase Auracast™ devices to healthcare professionals, technology developers, and distributors across the Asia-Pacific region.

Auracast™: A New Standard in Wireless Accessibility

At the heart of the announcement is Audeara’s embrace of Auracast™, the next-generation broadcast audio standard introduced under Bluetooth LE Audio. Unlike traditional telecoil or induction loop systems, Auracast™ provides high-fidelity, low-latency wireless audio in public and private settings alike - from music venues and sports bars to clinics and classrooms.

For individuals with hearing loss, the benefits are immediate: improved clarity, ease of access, and compatibility with modern audio devices. For the broader public, Auracast™ enables private listening experiences in shared environments, such as syncing personal earbuds to public TVs or speaker systems.

According to Bluetooth SIG, the technology is poised to become a global standard, and Audeara is at the forefront of this transition. The company’s leadership in the space was recently recognised in an interview with Dr Fielding on Bluetooth SIG’s official podcast, where he discussed Auracast’s potential to transform everyday listening for people of all hearing abilities.

Asia Expansion Adds Strategic Depth

While Japan’s ageing population and high-tech orientation make it an ideal early market for next-gen hearing solutions, the significance of this deal extends beyond demographics. It signals Audeara’s intent to establish a truly global footprint for its hardware platform, which combines medical-grade personalisation with consumer audio convenience.

The agreement is effective immediately and runs for an initial term of 12 months, with automatic annual renewal based on performance. Audeara retains the right to terminate the agreement for cause, providing flexibility as it navigates the evolving global assistive tech landscape.

With commercial traction building across multiple geographies, Audeara appears well-positioned to convert its innovative product pipeline into sustainable international revenue. The next test will be consumer uptake in Japan and the successful local integration of Auracast™ - a potential model for future expansion in Asia and beyond.
